Rice payasam

                                                  RICE PAYASAM 

INGREDIENTS:

  •    Basmati rice  -  100 g                                          
  •    Sugar                   -  250 g
  •    Cashew nuts       - 20 g
  •    Raisins                   -  15 g
  •    Cardamom         -  2 nos
  •    Milk                      -  ½  Liter
  •    Ghee                      - 2 Teaspoons       

METHOD:

  •         Grind raw rice like coarsely.

  •         Fry cardamom in the empty pan and keep it aside. Then fry cashewnuts and raisins in ghee.
  •      Powder cardamom.
  •      Cook raw rice with some amount of milk in the cooker. When raw rice is boiled, add boiled (remaining) milk and allow it to boil for sometime.
  •     Add sugar. When sugar is dissolved ,garnish with cashew nut, raisin,cardamom and mix well to serve hot.

·         Note:

For rice kheer (payasam), you can cook rice normally and then add milk(for 1 cup of rice to be boiled add 3 cups of water) . If a pinch of

Salt is added to this preparation, it improves the flavour & taste. If you have condensed milk, you can add it instead of sugar
